MTA serves at The Father’s Heart Ministries

This past Saturday (08/17/13), MTA went to serve the Manhattan community as volunteers for The Father’s Heart Ministries soup kitchen program. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to serve with the faith-based non-profit ministry to help the elderly, the working poor, the unemployed, at-risk youth, immigrants and those without social or family support. This time, we served as greeters welcoming our guests into the church and as kitchen staff members cooking eggs and distributing food for our guests.

We decided to extend our fellowship time by going out for a game of mini golf afterwards at Pier 25!

MTA is one of our Faith Bible Hope Center English ministry cell groups that meets weekly at 7:30 p.m. at Hope Center on Friday nights. One of our core values is to build Christ-like people through community service. We strive to participate in two active community outreach events per year.

The Father’s Heart Ministries is a faith-based 501(c)3 not-for-profit ministry created to demonstrate God’s love through practical expressions of compassion. Through a unique blend of programs, practical training and classroom instruction we are addressing the special needs of the elderly, the working poor, the unemployed, at-risk youth, immigrants and those without social or family support. Our programs include hunger prevention, food stamps access, gang-prevention/youth development, parenting and anger management classes, ESL classes and Alphabet Scoop, our job training/mentoring program for teens. Our goal is to empower individuals to become self-sufficient, to see families healed and restored and to see them move from dependency to dignity; from poverty to prosperity.

It is located at: 545 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10009

The organization celebrates its 15th year anniversary! Here is a wonderful article about the initiatives that this wonderful organization has done.
